 The day started early again. My 4 a.m. alarm went off out of habit from weekday dog-sitting duties, even though I’m not entirely sure if I have any sitting jobs lined up this weekend. I’ll need to adjust that alarm soon so I can sleep in on my days off.

After rolling out of bed, I brewed a fresh pot of coffee. I’m out of cream, so I had to settle for milk instead. It’s not my favorite — the coffee tastes a little flatter and less rich — but it’s what I had on hand. Small things like that remind me I need to do a proper grocery run soon.

My to-do list for today is straightforward and satisfying: tackle the pile of dishes in the sink, hang up the laundry that’s been waiting, and do some general tidying around the house. Nothing major, just the kind of maintenance that makes the space feel better once it’s done.
